Strength training is a critical piece to the endurance sport training program. An effective strength training program not only helps athletes get stronger, but more importantly improves posture, muscle recruitment, fatigue resistance, tissue elasticity, and range of motion. All combined, this leads to injury prevention & more power.

Our Three Phase Approach to Year-Round Strength Training

The key to strength training is training all year long!

We follow three distinct strength training cycles, similar to that of endurance training: Base, Build, and Maintenance. Repeating these cycles throughout your season, and from season to season, will ensure you are continually gaining strength (i.e. not slowing down as you age!) year after year.

1. Base Phase
6-12 Weeks

Off-Season

Establishes Basic Strength

Primary Lifts: Squat & Deadlift

2. Build Phase
