Without a doubt, race day fueling can make or break your event. In this episode we share the what, why and how we fuel racing performance.

While we touch on the science of topics like glycogen storage, blood sugar management, and combining glucose & fructose as part of your caloric consumption plan, we mostly draw upon the experience of 25 years of racing, 15 years of coaching, and the past few seasons of working with our young riders on the WE Development XC MTB Team. Seeing first-hand the effect of mismanaged fueling and subsequent low blood sugar levels has on the power production and pacing of racing (and the resulting post-race disappointments), the topic of fueling your race has become a passionate topic for the two of us!

So buckle up and learn how to fuel the engine to resist the power fade that so commonly occurs within endurance racing!!
