We’re closing out our first block of training in our 2022 Base Builder Program this week. Heading into a recovery week and looking to ‘absorb’ the work we’ve done, adapt to the strain applied and increase our fitness!
Recovery weeks are much needed to bring our bodies back to ‘homeostasis’ after disrupting them with some quality training loads. Getting our readiness status back to “Green” and ready for more work in our second block of Base Builder training is the goal. “Green” is referring to our readiness score provided by Whoop (or other fitness wearable/HRV data measurements) that indicate your body is primed for more training stress.
Sleep is one of the best ways to assist your body in the recovery process and get back in the “Green”. In this week’s podcast, we’re going back to 2020’s episode #42 where we took a deep dive into sleep: why we need it, and how to do it better! Get better sleep and make bigger gains! Hope you enjoy.
