Episode 53: Athlete Q&A

Episode 53: Athlete Q&A

With the 2021 training season taking off we’ve been getting a lot of great questions sent our way from our WE athletes. So many good questions in fact, that we figured others listeners to our show may have similar questions pertaining to getting going on their training season.

Topics/questions covered include:

  • Understanding Training Peaks power number prescriptions for workouts, how they are created, and what can cause them to change?
  • I haven’t tested in a while. When is the best time to do a power test within a training block?
  • I need to lose 15 pounds! When is the best time and best method to changing ones body composition?
  • I am sore as I’m getting back into strength training! How can I avoid this?
  • Why do we train specific energy systems individually for periods of time before moving on to another? Why not train all energy systems all the time?
  • I’m slow up the hills compared to my riding friends. Must you ride more hills to get better at climbing or should I stick to the aerobic training even if it means riding flatter terrain?

Have questions of your own?  Send them our way and we’ll be happy to answer them!
